After his life in Africa I thought it was interesting how he started to travel around trying to teach people how bad slavery was and convince them to stop purchasing slaves so that one day there would not be any more slavery.

The Interesting Life of Olaudah Equiano is a very interesting read. The story is written from a first had point of view, so we get Olaudah's actual expierience through the Middle Passage and of slave trade. To actually live through the Middle Passage and slave trade was a great accomplishment for Olaudah. The Middle passage would have been very hard to live through because of the harsh conditions slave traders put the slaves through. Even though Olaudah had to go through these tough times, he pushed on and life started looking up for him once he earned his freedom and moved to Erupoe to start a new life. -Dalton Waid

Which of the two books we read this summer was your favorite?
I really enjoy reading great American and British literature. The poetry of Emily Dickinson is some of my favorite, along with the plays of William Shakespeare. I also enjoy American and British history and exploring the relationship of how the history of a certain time period is reflected in the literature from that same period.
