  1. Nathaniel Hawthorne's astounding use of words is the result of many different aspects. His style is fluid and and smooth, as uninteruppted as the act of thinking itself. His theme and purpose for each individual story is both original and universal, any one of his readers can associate themselves with Hester, Dimmesdale, Mr. Heidegger, Mr. Hooper, or any of his other characters in their own situations throught the works. Hawthorne's use of imagery is incredible to say the least. Each scene is perfectly depicted whether it be as beautiful as your greatest dream, or has lucid as your most horrible nightmare. Hawthorne brings these qualities together wonderfully and proves himself to be an artist of the pen.

  4. Nathaniel Hawthorne practically paints a picture for you. Hawthorne describes everything to a great extent with the use of many adjectives. He also uses a lot of commas, I believe he does this because he tries to get multiple thoughts into one sentence. Hawthorne has multiple themes in his writings. The majority of his writings have something to do with sin, such as the scarlet letter that Hester Prynne wore in "The Scarlet Letter", and the black veil Mr. Hooper wheres in "The Minister's Black Veil"

  5. Hawthorne is such a talented writer because of his style, theme, and imagery. For his style, he uses many commas and complex sentences with long ,but one complete meaning. The theme is close to the same in many of his books, he uses sin and human nature to teach his readers valuable lessons. Also, by using the imagery of the scarlet letter, black veil, and rose he adds a great element to his books. This is why he is such a talented writer.

  6. Nathaniel Hawthorne's use of detail, extensive vocabulary, symbolism, and placement of commas is what makes his writing so extrodinary and unique. In the three stories of his that we have read so far, each contain Hawthorne's noticable mark. The creativity of Hawthorne's symbolic and detailed writing shines clearly throughout each of his literary works. He depicts as clear a picture of his settings and characters as a painter. In his own way, he too is an artist of sorts, but instead of creating scenes with a brush and paint, he paints with words and ink.

  7. Nathaniel Hawthorne is a very unique writer because of his writing style. Hawthorne's writing style includes overly describing small things. Hawthorne uses imagery in every single sentence. Hawthorne's use of imagery also ties back to his style of overly describing little details. When there is so much description, it is easy to get a mental picture of what Hawthorne is talking about. Hawthorne's theme tends to be quite obvious, and is presented through symbolism, such as "The Scarlet Letter" the symbol for the theme was Pearl. Overall, Hawthorne is an amazing writer, who I never thought I would enjoy reading.

In fact, Hawthorne is an artist because in each of his books he paints a vivid picture of the scene with his imagery. 13. Nathaniel Hawthorne would not be such a talented writer if it weren't for his use of style, theme, and imagery. His style of writing is very talented and unique because he makes the reader really think without stating what happens in the story point blankly. Instead, the meaning of his stories are quite vague, so the reader could have a variety of opinions about why the characters in the story do what they do. The theme of his writing is uncommon because the conflicts in his works are mainly internal conflicts, which really make the reader try to interpret the characters' feelings and relate the characters to themselves. Hawthorne's use of imagery expresses his talent in writing because to use imagery in the extraordinary way that he does, he is compelled to use an extensive vocabulary, which he does very successfully.

Nothing is left unsaid in Hawthorne's writing because every detail the reader could ask for is perfectly presented. The symbolism Hawthorne uses makes his writing have a deeper and greater meaning. Its hard for a writer to come up with an amazing story, but its even harder for a writer to include a greater moral story, such as Hawthorne does. 16. Nathaniel Hawthorne distinguishes himself in many ways. Hawthorne's style is very unique because he will try to fit as much information in a single sentence that is possible. He does this with his extensive use of commas and conjunctions, but still follows every rule in the English language when doing so. Hawthorne also uses very intricate themes that relate to experiences that every person, no matter rank or position, has done or wished for. One theme is that when given the chance to change the past we will still make the same mistakes, and others include dealings with personal sins that have been committed, announced or not. Hawthorne also has an incredible talent for imagery. Hawthorne tells every detail with precision and recreates all objects in his books for the readers. He could describe every crack in a dropped vase or every feather on a bird's wing. These three traits make Hawthorne a writer different from all others, and give him a seat in the history of literature

In three of Hawthorne's books he uses sin as the main theme, though he does not always address that theme directly he describes it well enough that the reader understands. He gives each of those symbols exact characteristics of how they impact the people in the book and the book itself.
